South
Central Ambulance STEPS on board with Imass and Excelerate
Momentum
continues to grow for the new Imass STEPS solution, with
South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SCAS) the
latest to invest in the Imass emergency planning and
response software.
The
contract, which was secured through Imass’ Cardiff-based
business partner Excelerate Technology, sees SCAS as the
first Ambulance Trust in the UK to install STEPS.
James
Amos, Emergency Planning Officer for SCAS said “It is
vital for us, as an Ambulance Trust that covers such a
wide and diverse area, that we equip ourselves with
technology that will aid us in our emergency management
and multi-agency response procedures.
This is why we have chosen the new Imass STEPS
solution.
STEPS,
which was launched officially at the 2006 BAPCO
exhibition, enables
organisations to associate pre-planned responses with any
location, building or geographical area.
As an incident (which can range from everyday
events, natural or man made disasters) evolves, STEPS also
allows the dynamic aspects of the incident to be recorded
through either the ability to take screen shots at any
stage or via the Audit Trail module.
Customer feedback during early deployment of STEPS
has additionally identified the potential of STEPS as a
supporting tool for training.
Jeremy
Valentine, Imass Business Development Manager for STEPS
commented, “One of the real benefits of STEPS, aside its
simplicity of use, is its flexibility.
Imass has developed a customisable product, however
we worked very closely with South
Central Ambulance and
listened carefully to fully understand their overall
business requirements. We then committed to further
develop STEPS ensuring the solution met their
comprehensive emergency planning and response needs.
As the first implementation of STEPS into the UK
Ambulance Trust, this symbolises a significant and
positive development for Imass and endorses the generic
capabilities of the product which was designed from the
outset to meet the needs of emergency planning and
response organisations.”
SCAS
also use the Excelerate Transportable Satellite Broadband
VPN (TSBV) technology along with Excelerates integrated
wireless, VOIP and CCTV applications over its managed
satellite network allowing real-time remote viewing of
STEPS.
