Imass Dynamic Icon Display System (Imass DIDS)

In addition to providing systems designed to support Fire Control personnel with information from the Brigade Hazard Management System / Operational Information System, Imass has an established reputation as a provider of GIS-based integrated enhancement to Mobilising systems.

Imass DIDS provides multi-user map display systems for integration with existing Fire Control systems to provide real-time GIS and mapping facilities.  This is based on a communication interface and protocol developed to allow two-way communication with Command and Control Systems.

Messaging between the Clients and the Command and Control servers allows the display of symbols and textual information about key items of interest (eg. vehicles, officers and incidents) with real-time on-screen updates.

Features

  • A communications module for two-way messaging between the Mobilising server and Imass DIDS Client;

  • Broadcast handling module to maintain up to date records for incidents and resources;

  • Initial entry on mapping supplied by C&C server (where the C&C can provide an OS grid reference);

  • On screen representation of incident and resource entities;

  • Point and click to display entity details (where the C&C allows), point and drag to move entity - updates C&C server (where the C&C allows);

  • Overlap rule base to ensure legible data without overlap, selection criteria for display of entities;

  • Incident may have several locations;

  • Map caching to manage local storage of mapping to optimise performance.
